Generate a new school
Enter the number of pupils. SyntaxLab works out the rooms the school needs, lays them out as rough blocks to the Department’s design guide and fire regulations, and checks each option.

Cost breakdown
Room schedule
What the school needs for this many pupils, from the Department’s Schedules of Accommodation (500, 750, 1,000 and 1,300 pupils). Estimate means the number is scaled beyond those four sizes.
Analyse a school
See how an existing school works: how easy each room is to reach, where people walk, and which changes would help.
Plan and pupils
How should the floor plans be drawn?
DXF files: one per floor, or all floors side by side with titles such as “Ground floor”. A saved SyntaxLab plan (.json) opens too.
Each room as one closed polyline, with its name written inside it (“Classroom 12”, “Science lab”, “Corridor”, “Stair”). Corridors and stairs need to be drawn as rooms too.
Fire doors, if you want them checked, as lines on a layer with “fire” in its name. Wall thickness, rotation and the drawing units are dealt with automatically, and everything assumed is listed after the import.
How the school works
How easy each room is to reach, and where people walk most. Pick one to see it on the plan.
Suggested changes
Each change has been measured on the plan. Try one to see the difference; you can undo it.
